Why Children's Village
One of the main reasons we created Children’s Village two years ago is that we wanted our children to have friends they could play with regularly and consistently, so that they could have a felt sense of continuity and security as well as the opportunity to work through in a safe space the challenges that becoming emotionally close to other people bring.
We were also motivated by what we saw as a huge need to build networks and connections so we can all, children as well as parents, have a sense of belonging to a community.
It’s wonderful to know that outside of Children’s Village, the children in our groups play in parks and allotments together, visit theatres and museums, celebrate birthdays, go to classes and festivals, go camping, and even go on holidays together. It feels like we’re getting there.
